i really believe this is true. my mother is 100% cicilian, and her parents’ parents came over from palermo italy in 1908. dispite the discrimination, i am proud to be Cicilian.

Cronacaman,

I see that you included my name in the list of commissioners for the Florence Commission. Please note, however, that most of my opinions and stances on the activities of the commission are actually quite the contrary to those of my peers. Also, I will not be a member of the delegation going to Florence during the month of May 2008.

I share some of your opinions and views about the commission; still, I may disagree on a few others. Then again, I might even go a bit further on some of my criticism than you have yourself. All the same, here I am on the commission board, trying to serve the public as best and ethically as possible.

Maybe Jeremiah Wright and Trinity will apologize when black Americans receive an apology for some things said by much larger entities.

And for the record, Don Imus was fired for financial reasons only. He was fired because his sponsors pulled out from him. A church has no sponsors but the members, and clearly the members of that church support him and still overwhelmingly support Barack Obama.

And lets look at what a lynching was in contemporary contexts. It was a way of killing those who went against the established order of things as deemed by a white government. That’s what a crucifixion was as well, a way of killing political dissendents who went against the established order of things as determined by the Roman government–that was white.

Actually, Jeremiah Wright was pretty much on point, perhaps the “garlic nose” comment was just him getting caught up in the moment, but other than that, he was right, and most people know it. But because it offended most everyones senses by holding up a mirror to their own injustices–I guess who would want to see their own ugly faces in the mirror, I know I wouldn’t.

I, for one, extend deep appreciation to Dr. Piccigallo for a measured, dispassionate and intelligent response.

And I, for one, will expect an unequivocal condemnation from all three candidates, which Dr. Piccigallo has called for.

They are not condemning Obama. They are condemning Jeremiah Wright. If anybody needs to stop acting like babies, its Trinity UCC and Jeremiah Wright.

Why should McCain, Obama & Clinton condemn the words expressed by someone else? The world is acting like big babies. I have been callled everything under the sun. As soon as other races besides black are slandered, it’s a big issue.
Stop crying, act like an adult and let’s move on.
Trust me, a lot more is being said behind your backs then you could ever know. This is just one (of many) you found out about.
